This is a vision indicator selected by the Nordic Council of Ministers. It relates to the target Industry, innovation and infrastructure under the area A competitive Nordic region.

The measurement stems from the European Commission's 'DESI dashboard for the Digital Decade', which summarizes Europes performance across four dimensions: digital skills, digital infrastructure, digitalisation of business and digitalisation of public services. It is a composite measurement that measures whether services can be found and used online by citizens via a government portal. As a result, each country is provided a score 0-100.
Definition: Online provision of key public services for citizens, measured as the share of administrative steps that can be completed fully online for major life events. There are 7 life events considered for citizens: 1. Family, 2. Career, 3. Studying, 4. Health, 5. Transport, 6. Moving, 7. Starting a Small Claims Procedure. The indicator is an aggregate score of multiple elements describing:
- the number of services which are provided online to national users;
- the number of services for which online information is provided to national users;
- the number of services provided through a portal;
- the number of services which are provided online to cross-border users;
- and the number of services for which online information is provided to cross-border users.

Åland is included in the data for Finland.

In the table, the Nordic Region is comprised of the following countries/areas: Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
